In 1995, responding to the growing trend in the commercial building industry towards the Design-Build delivery method, architect Kim Schmidt founded Vantage Point Architectural Services in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Through successful partnerships with contractors over the years, our firm has consistently set to standard for Design-Build architectural services in the Midwest, while still providing Design-Bid-Build services when required by our clients.

In the summer of 2018, a second office was opened in Davenport, Iowa. This expansion introduced three new team members that brought over 75 years of collective design/build experience on both regional and national projects.

To celebrate this expansion of our locations and capabilities, we changed our name to VANTAGE ARCHITECTS LLC.

Ron Danner, AIA

Director of Architecture | Partner

EDUCATION: Bachelor of Arts - Architecture, Iowa State University

As Director of Architecture, Ron is often a first point of contact with our clients. He enjoys the problem solving aspect of the profession, guiding our clients through the seemingly daunting task of expressing their building desires, and developing a concept that meets or exceeds their expectations. He honed those skills in a similar role during his 26 years in the Architecture + Engineering department of a large national design/build contractor prior to joining Vantage Architects in the summer of 2018. He has established solid relationships with large national clients, and has experience working on large retail and industrial developments, historic adaptive reuse projects, and mixed-use developments.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, boating and fishing.

Jeff Kibler,

Senior Designer | Partner

EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science - Kinesiology, University of Illinois

Bachelor of Arts - Interior Design, Columbia College

As a youth, Jeff collected a wealth of construction knowledge working for his father’s construction firm. He continues to apply that real-world experience today, diligently working out the details of every project he works on. Simply put - a detail won’t go into our construction documents until he is satisfied it will work. Before joining Vantage Architects, he spent 20 years working for the Architecture + Engineering firm of a large national design/build contractor where he worked on a variety of projects, including large industrial projects, retail developments, medical office buildings, large mixed-use developments, and high-end senior living communities..

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, their grown children and grandchildren.
